I decided to catch up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You know, Ms. Marvel is a pretty good series. It's about a 16-year-old girl named Kamala Khan who finds a mysterious bangle that awakens powers within her. It sounds cheesy, but it's well executed and there's way more going on in the story.
I've never seen a series that focused on Pakistani-American culture and the rituals of modern Muslim life. The activist Malala Yousafzai seems to like as well, seeing it as a positive representation. I may have learned a thing or two. It's warm, it's funny, the characters are likable enough, and Kamala's powers are pretty cool, even if they're pretty different from the comics. The action can be a little shaky-cam with a million cuts at times, but it's not too bad. Don't expect non-stop superhero action throughout. It's just as much a coming-of-age drama featuring normal teenage shenaniganry, which I like. It's cute. It's just a fun little mini series, though it's probably aimed at a younger, but hey, enjoyed it.
Yeah, it's a welcome addition to the MCU with fresh ideas and a unique charm. I think it's...marvelous.

My sister has a possum (opossum) as a pet. Wild animals absolutely shouldn't be kept as pets...but darn if he wasn't the sweetest little guy. Oh my gosh. I got to possumsit and he was as docile and friendly as a lazy cat. We ate tomatoes together, a real bonding moment.
