I only ever really had basic colored block LEGOs alongside other toys, like the TimMee Cowboys and Indians and Army Men plastic figure sets and Lincoln Logs. These were all toys from before my time, but the elementary school I attended had bought them years before I was even born, so them, alongside other inexpensive/generic options were all we had to play with while movies like Mr. Boogedy and The Secret of NIMH were frequently shown on a CRT in the corner of the room. My imagination did a lot of heavy lifting for my amusement and continues to do while I perform mundane tasks at work.

This here looks like all the fancy stuff in themed sets that I never had access to as a kid.

The thoughtful memories are always appreciated. I didn't have a lot of those older toys, but I would've loved Lincoln Logs and the like. I used to get Lego sets as a kid, sure, and I'd put them together, but I would always tear them down eventually to build other things and play pretend. That's where the real fun was. I even sent in pictures of my creations to Lego Magazine way back. Wish I still had those. Oh, and I'd order bags of new bricks with a money order. Are money orders still a thing? Anyway, I still have most of my childhood Legos in a big trunk that's too hard to access right now. Yes yes, fine memories. The best nation is imagination.

@Bertn1991 Having worked in a grocery store and a gas station, I can confidently type that money orders are definitely still a thing.
