One of the very few times we see Mario and Luigi's parents. They're like the parents from Cow and Chicken so we only ever see their legs. Okay, so Mario's been all over the world and traveled to distant galaxies and other universes, but he can't visit his parents once in a while? Shameful.
I don’t want to sound like I’m trying to make up one of those “all the characters are dead and in hell” creepypastas, but do you think that their parents might’ve passed away? I don’t know there exact ages, but I’m willing to wager that Mario and Luigi are somewhere in their 30’s.
You know, it's possible. Nintendo has said they keep an enormous document filled with Zelda information and how the games are connected, so maybe there's a similar Mario Bible with all the juicy details on the Mushroom Kingdom and its inhabitants. Then again, I'm probably looking too deep. Miyamoto once said he himself is Bowser Jr. Mother, so I don't think he cares much about Mario lore ^_^'
