Hello, person. I’m a fella who fancies squirrels, cartoons, a good JRPG, all things Nintendo, root beer, cereal and collecting random things. My page is about music, art, animations (and more, probably).

The 8BitDo Pro 2

Posted by Bertn1991 - March 28th, 2023

The 8BitDo Pro 2 is great. Sturdy, comfy, excellent D-pad, gyro controls, analog triggers, a couple of programmable macros on the back if you're into that—it's an all-around great controller. Out of the box, it works with Switch, Windows, Apple, and Android, and a handy toggle on the back makes it very easy to swap between them. I do prefer asymmetrical analog sticks for most modern games, but if you're playing a D-pad-focused game like a platformer or 2D game, it's hard to go wrong here. The purple model here comes with little rubber thumb grips you can wrap over the analog sticks, but it's totally optional. I didn't think I'd like them, but they're actually quite nice.

That's about it. If you're in the market for a new controller, this one gets high marks from me. I've been using it for a few weeks now and have nothing but nice feelings about it.

I have a ton of 8BitDo controllers. I've been using a DualSense since like Christmas as my main controller but I wouldn't hesitate to go back

Been using the 8BitDo Arcade Stick to play a fighting games. Not great with the platform fighters, but excellent for the tradition ones. I wish it was wider so that I could rest it on my lap without it falling off.

Nice, nice. I was thinking about getting one of those too. Then I too can be one of the cool kids.
