My own little 1990s desktop, complete with a CRT monitor and all-beige computer components. I have a modern PC, of course, but I've been using this guy for writing mostly and having a wonderful time. It just feels right. Simple machine, narrow-focused, no Internet, no distractions, all the charm. I'm sure I'll add old games and more software down the line. Yes yes, my heart is happy.

The telephone just happened to be in the desk drawer. It doesn't work, but it does fit the mood quite nicely.

Looks pretty cozy.

i'm legitimately jealous of you, i want a PC like that

Very nice. I'd be able to play my copies of Starcraft and Diablo 2 again with that thing. I still Myst, as well, but that game suuuuuuuuuuuucks. It's an amazing little setup, Bertn. You are the modern-day version of those authors who preferred to use a typewriter over a computer for their own literary projects.

Oh yes, I really like it. I'm kind of surprised by how much I use it. And I don't own many PC games, but I do have those three. Diablo 2 was always a fun time with my dear brother and nephew. I think it had a little-known prequel called "Diablo" or something like that. Who even played the first game? It's like Street Fighter 1; it might as well not exist. I probably need to upgrade my 64mb or RAM before I play anything substantial, though. Or maybe I'll just download more RAM like a smart person in 1998 would.
