Yikes on trikes I've put on 30 lbs since last year. How'd that happen? It must be all the nothing I've been doing in quarantine. I have become the big JELL-O.

This 2017 crime thriller was directed by the Safdie brothers, who went on to direct Uncut Gems. It's got the (almost) always fantastic Robert Pattinson and tells the tale of one brother's perilous quest to bust his mentally-handicapped brother out of jail following a botched robbery. Yikes on trikes.

Robert Pattinson is excellent in this. His character is basically an anti-hero. He's a horrible person, but has just enough humanity that you root for him. He commits crime after crime after crime trying to make things right. He's in a hole but won't stop digging. There are other characters he meets along the way, but their stories are mostly inconsequential.

I don't know if this was on purpose, but the story felt a bit jumbled. It sets up plot lines and characters that go nowhere. Robert Pattinson is drifting through a series of situations, using people around him along the way to get what he wants, and then casting them aside when they're no longer useful to him. Actually, I think this structure works well in this case. It kept me guessing until the end. Expectations are out the window along with the criminal accomplice Connie accidentally breaks out of the hospital. That probably made no sense.

Yeah, I have no major complaints. Fantastic performances, a good score, great visuals. Although, I still have no idea why this is called Good Time. I don't think a single character in this at any point had a good time. Maybe I missed something.

I'm too afraid to review movies on YouTube again, so I thought I'd share some of my written reviews instead. I've been doing these since roughly the Cretaceous Period, but only ever post them to Facebook for my friends to see. You guys are friends, so here are my always unorganized thoughts on a movie.

Movie Review #1267 - Overlord. This 2018 war horror film was directed by Julius Avery, who brought us such classics as... nothing. This one seriously disturbed me. You think you know what you're watching and where it's going, but then it's something totally different. This is not another World War II movie and the less I say about the plot, the better. It's a horror movie based on a real thing - Nazi human experimentation. It's not winning any awards for period accuracy, but I forgive it in this instance. The thought of such cruel human experimentation is something I'm not numb to, not even in movies. It just horrifies me like nothing else. Josef Mengele always comes to mind. He once sewed two children together to create conjoined twins, but I digress. The writing and story is a bit messy at times, with things just sorta happening for no other reason than to advance the plot. "Well, we've been in this location for a while. Oh no! It's the next thing!!" You know, this movie makes me think of some sick, twisted version of the first Captain America movie. Excuse me, the first good Captain America movie. That thing from the 1990s never happened. It'll make more sense if you see it, Overlord I mean. It's not quite as outlandish as the Marvel film, but pretty out-there. Anyways, it's a fine movie, but it's a little too, er, horrific for my taste. I'm not much of a body horror fan, but for what it is, it's a solid experience.

My beloved Yamaha MM6 has thrown in the towel and I'm no longer able to use it to write and record music. It may be a while before I make new tracks. My only job right now is doing art commissions and it's not exactly a lucrative business for someone who can't draw. It could be quite some time before I can buy a new keyboard (or fix my current one) and get the musical balls rolling again. I don't know what that means. Anyways, thank you for reading. 1. People who sneeze more than three times. I sneeze twice, pause, and then sometimes a third sneeze finds its way out, but never more than three. No way, man.
2. People with no kids who tell others how to parent.
3. People who watched the entire "Girls Gone Wild" infomercial at 4:00 am.
4. Men who flirt with female cashiers. Her job requires her to be nice and she doesn't really like you. Please go away.
5. Kids with crummy parents who grew up to become awesome people.
6. That one friend's dad whom you're low-key intimidated by.
7. People who are always cold regardless of what time of the year it is.
8. That one friend who invites you over to hangout but doesn't tell you that he/she also invited 27 other people.
9. That one friend who knows you have sensitive teeth and knows not to put ice in your drink. That's a sign of a good friendship.

1. Groups of people who walk really slowly in hallways and make it difficult to get by.
2. Snake people. Those people who absolutely love snakes and want you to know that they love snakes.
3. People who say they like all music but only seem to listen to a handful of genres.
4. People who want to show you a "quick video" but it's like 17 minutes long.
5. Casually racist old people. Maybe you've heard someone call Brazil nuts by, er, a different name.

I've made 9 of these silly lists. Thought I'd share some of them here. They get pretty out there eventually.

I've fallen down a rabbit hole of podiatry videos on YouTube. There's something oddly satisfying about watching out-of-control nails getting trimmed, and I feel like I've learned a lot about podiatry. Gosh, sometimes it's so bad the doctor has to use a dremel, a power tool, to file the nails down because the regular nippers aren't strong enough. It's crazy how long people wait before seeking medical attention. I'm a morbidly curious person. I wanna see the most extreme cases people come in with. I want to see the grossest, craziest conditions. I wanna see fungus run amok, the worst ingrown toenails ever, the thickest calluses and warts. I wanna see whole toenails removed and big abscesses lanced. I've always been sorta interested in learning about diseases and conditions and seeing how they're treated (and how best to avoid getting them). I've never been squeamish about seeing surgeries and I'm not sure that anything grosses me out really. The videos I've watched have millions of views so I guess there's a big community of people out there like me. The point I'm making is take good care of yo feet, y'all.
