They're more guidelines than rules, but there are two things I try my best to adhere to when using social media. I consider sites like New Grounds, YouTube, DeviantArt as well as the usual Facebook, Twitter and whatnot as social media sites.

1. This is the most important rule. Try not to post anything publically while you're upset or very emotional about something. If I'm especially angry or scared or crying in the corner because Harvey Beaks was canceled, it's probably best not to post anything until I have a level head. Things said out of anger can put people in a bad place. I don't want to say something I don't really mean because I was "in my feelings" as the youngins say. I've posted lots of dejected things online that I end up regretting. I don't like making others feel sad, so I try to put my most positive self online. I hurt somebody's feelings once. I spent the day with a friend, it was a wonderful time, and after we parted, something unrelated really got me down. I wrote about how I felt alone and hopeless, which was pretty stupid considering I just spent the day with a friend I like very much. That's why I only let rational, collected, calm Brent post things now. Then again, he posts dumb things from time to time.
2. Avoid drama. It's not worth it. In 2016 I found myself in the middle of a stupid feud online and it was so pointless. Someone was harassing my family member on Facebook so I called her a bully who "TALKS IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE SHE'S TONKA TOUGH." That led to a long, winding road to nowheresville. When reasoning fails, block, move on, be done.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I'm sure there are billions of other things one could add to the list, but I feel most of them would either be obvious enough to people that they wouldn't need to be included, or so esoteric that you'd never be in a situation where it's helpful. As far as I know there's no rule in the game of Chess against setting your opponent on fire, but this doesn't seem to be a recurring issue that needs to be included in the rules. My two rules have served me well over the years, so I thought I'd share them. Anyways, that about wraps up this ramble of mine. Thanks for listening. Be excellent <3

The one in the background is my keyboard of 14 years. It still works, but I can no longer connect it to my PC to record music. Also, it's starting to show its age in other ways. I have to clean under the keys sometimes to keep everything working as it should. I hope to make more music this year than I did in 2020 <3

For the last four days I've been in a perpetual state of what feels like motion sickness. I feel like I've been on a Mary-go-round all week. I haven't thrown up yet (somehow), but I always feel like it's about to happen. It's not unbearable, but it is unpleasant enough to make enjoying certain things a challenge, like video games especially. I tried playing Smash Bros. for all of 4 minutes. I guess I'll need to see a doctor yet again in 2020. It's been a challenging year for most everyone I think.

It more positive news, I almost have enough money saved up to buy a new keyboard, so I can finally get back to making music more regularly. So excited about that <3

If you don't know, I was bitten on the leg by what I assume was a spider. Identifying a spider bite is tricky unless you capture the specimen that did the biting. I spoke with a doctor and she's put me on antibiotics, these big horse pills I have to take twice a day, and said to go to the ER right away if things worsen, because my little bite is potentially dangerous. I think the antibiotics should do the trick, though. It's probably my imagination, but I already feel approximately 17.4661% better. Also, I got a diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), and tetanus vaccine, because vaccines are cool. Your rare bacterial diseases are no match for me now!
